Gear that does what it says
True North started with a headlamp that died on the second night of a four-day trip. It had all the right numbers on the box. It just wasn't built to be used.
That's most of the outdoor market now — specs written for the listing rather than the trip. Big lumen figures measured in the first thirty seconds. Weights that leave out the battery. Gear designed to photograph well and survive a return window.
We'd rather sell four things that work than four hundred that photograph well.
So we keep the range small and we use everything before we list it. If a product can't handle a wet weekend, it doesn't go on the site. If a figure comes from the manufacturer rather than us, we label it that way.
No gimmicks, no overpromising. Just kit you can stop thinking about once it's in the pack.

Every product goes out with us before it goes on the site. If it fails on a wet weekend, it doesn't make the range. That's why there are four products here and not four hundred.

Lumens, weights and pack sizes are the real measured numbers, in metric and imperial. If a figure is the manufacturer's claim rather than ours, we say so on the product page.

Thirty days to change your mind
Take it out. Set it up. Use it properly. If it isn't what you expected, send it back within 30 days and we'll refund you. If it turns up faulty or damaged, we cover return postage too.

Common questions
How long will my order take?
We dispatch within [1–2] business days. Delivery is typically [3-7] business days after that. You'll get a tracking link by email as soon as your parcel is scanned — allow 24 to 48 hours before tracking starts updating.
What if it's not right for me?
Send it back within 30 days for a full refund of the purchase price, as long as it's unused and in its original packaging. Change of mind return postage is at your cost. If the item is faulty, damaged or not what you ordered, we cover the postage and replace or refund it.

We can ship to Most countries. Enter your address at checkout and you'll see the available options and rates before you pay. If your country isn't showing, email us and we'll look into it..
Are the lumen and weight figures accurate?
Where we've measured something ourselves, that's the number on the page. Where a figure comes from the manufacturer's specification, we label it as such. Output can vary a little between individual units, which is normal for battery-powered lighting.
